Principal: Dr. Steven Archer
Dr. Steve Archer became principal at Union Chapel Elementary starting with the 2008-2009 school year. Before that, Dr. Archer was an elementary principal for three years and a middle school assistant principal for nine years. He started his career as a classroom teacher in 1989. Dr. Archer and his wife have six children. Dr. Archer enjoys going to his children's soccer games, concerts and other special events. He also enjoys running, and reading professional books and children's literature. Dr. Archer loves being an elementary principal. He believes an environment of collaboration is the best way to reach our goals. Accountability for schools is high, and he believes it takes students, parents, community members and school staff working together to make sure our students have all the support they need and deserve.
Assistant Principal: Dr. Laura Tyler
Dr. Laura Tyler joined Union Chapel as the assistant principal in August of 2020. Prior to administration, Dr. Tyler spent thirteen years in the classroom. Her experiences range from first, second, and third grades. When she is not at school, Dr. Tyler enjoys watching her daughter play volleyball. She also enjoys any activity that is outdoors, concerts, family time or walking her beagle. Dr. Tyler is a Royals fan! Dr. Tyler is an avid reader and hopes to instill a love of reading in all children. She places high importance on relationships and social emotional well-being. Dr. Tyler values communication and input from the school community~ students, staff, and families.
